Birth, Trauma & Liberation: Reclaiming Our Stories as Black Mothers

Facilitated by Deidra Williams & Sattina Dabb, Co-Founders of Nia DoulasPresented by Blk Women in Excellence (BWIE) | Funded by the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia

🧘🏾‍♀️ Session Overview:

This workshop is a healing-centered, culturally grounded space for Black women and birthing people to reflect on the trauma, silence, and systemic neglect often experienced in childbirth — and reclaim their voices, bodies, and stories.

Led by Deidra Williams and Sattina Dabb, co-founders of Nia Doulas, this session will explore how Black women can begin to heal from birth-related trauma, access community-centered care, and build a path toward liberation in reproductive health.
